Cat Homing Show

Our next Cat Homing Show takes place on Saturday 5 December from 10.30am to 1pm, at the British Legion Hall, Castle Lane, Hadleigh. Cats and kittens in need of a new home will be on show but you don't have to wait until the Homing Show to home a cat - we'd be delighted to hear from you today. Please contact Yvonne on 01268 750831 for more information and to arrange the home check will be needed before the cat or kitten is homed with you.

All our cats and kittens available for homing are in good health and, dependent on their age, are microchipped, neutered and vaccinated. The 'Cats Looking for Homes' page on this website is updated all the time with information about the cats and kittens in our care looking for a new home and their photos are on the Image Gallery pages.

Cat lovers urgently needed

Could you be one of our fosterers, looking after a cat whilst it is waiting to be homed? This is a very rewarding job and we will supply all food and pay all vets bills so there will be no financial cost to you. All you need to provide is a comfortable and safe place for a cat to sleep and lots of love.

We desperately need more fosterers. We always have a list of cats that need to come into our care and we are limited as to how many we can take at any one time because of a lack of fosterers. If you have some time to spare and a spare room in which you could foster a cat please contact Val on 01268 794648. She will be happy to give you any more information you may need.

Help feed a rescue cat - donate cat food

With so many mouths to feed, all donations of cat and kitten food are very welcome. An extra pouch or two in your shopping will make all the difference to us and we can usually find a cat or kitten in our care that will eat a brand of cat food that your own cat has decided overnight he/she no longer likes!

Please bring the food to any of our events (as listed on the Events Page) or, if you live in Hockley, you can donate food to us all year round at Somerfield in Spa Road, Hockley. Food should be left with staff at the tobacco kiosk so that it can be kept safely for us to collect it.

Recycle your old mobile phone and help cats

Did you know you can help both the environment and Rayleigh, Castle Point & District Cats Protection by recycling your unwanted mobile phones? The Branch will receive £2.50 for each mobile phone donated to the recycling scheme . You can hand your phone to us at any of our events or ask for a FREEPOST envelope for postage. Please support this new fundraising initiative, which will benefit cats and kittens in this area.

Unable to have a cat of your own? Why not sponsor a cat instead?

Some cats that come into the Branch's care are not suitable for rehoming and these cats are included on our sponsorship scheme. For a regular donation, you could help meet the costs of these cats so that they have a good quality of life. The stories and photos of cats currently available on the scheme are included on the sponsorship pages - please take a look.

Did you know that when an adult cat leaves the Branch it will have cost Cats Protection, on average, at least £150? We appreciate that money is very tight at the moment but any regular donation made to the Branch will help towards the cost of feeding, neutering, microchipping and vaccinating a cat. Just £2 a month will help us help the cats and kittens in this part of Essex.
